Our Services

  • A crown is a protective cover that is placed on an individual tooth to restore a decayed, broken, or cracked tooth to a functional shape and size. This procedure is often necessary when there is no longer sufficient tooth structure left to place a filling, or after a tooth has had a root canal. It is also useful for protecting teeth that are cracked or broken. A crown can also be used to change the shape of a tooth, to correct a bite or cosmetic problem, or to replace existing broken or poor-fitting crowns.

A bridge is an alternative treatment to implants. When you are missing a tooth, we can use the adjacent teeth as a “bridge” and replace the missing tooth. Bridges have been a mainstay in dentistry for many years for a reason. When properly cared for, bridges can last as long as dental implants.

  • Invisalign gently moves teeth into the right position. Patients wear a series of clear, removable orthodontic aligners that are adjusted as the teeth shift into place without metal or wires. A series of custom-made aligners are worn each for a period of two weeks. Each aligner moves the teeth progressively into place. Better alignment not only improves the aesthetics of your teeth, it can actually aid in keeping your teeth healthy. Dr. Doran and Dr. Malmquist have both been trained in invisalign while in dental school, and have been offering this service for 10 years in the practice.

  • Implants are replacements for missing teeth, and are titanium designed to fuse to the bone to replicate the missing root. In general, your surgeon will place the implant in the bone. Dr. Doran and Dr. Malmquist will perform the restorative phase of the treatment and work closely with our dental specialists (oral surgeons and periodontists) to restore implants with implant crowns or bridges. We work hard to maintain close relationships with our specialists to give you the best coordinated care possible.

  • Preventive dental care is key to keeping your teeth healthy throughout the course of your life. Preventative care includes regular exams, oral cancer screening, teeth cleanings, periodontal cleanings, routine Xrays and fluoride varnish. Dr. Doran and Dr. Malmquist believe that maintaining a regular schedule of dental cleanings and exams is crucial to ensure long-term dental health. We feel building a healthy relationship through preventative care can lead to better long-term outcomes for our patients. The better we know your individual needs and circumstances, the better we can treat you!

  • At the center of your tooth is pulp. The pulp is made of blood vessels and nerve tissue. Infection of the pulp can be caused by trauma to the tooth, deep decay, cracks and chips, or repeated dental procedures. A root canal is performed by removing the diseased pulp, followed by thoroughly cleaning and sealing the canal space. In most cases following a root canal, a build up and crown are necessary to protect the tooth from a catastrophic fracture.

  • Cosmetic dentistry is dentistry aimed at creating a positive change to your teeth and to your smile. Smile enhancement can have dramatic results on your overall appearance; even the smallest step can boost your confidence, self-esteem, and make you want to smile more. With modern advances in dentistry, cosmetic procedures can range from a basic color correction to veneers, and everything in between. Dr. Doran and Dr. Malmquist both enjoy making meaningful aesthetic changes in their patient’s smile with a conservative approach.

  • Botulinum Toxin has important clinical uses as an adjunct in facial pain and bruxism cases for patients with chronic TMJ and orofacial pain. Botulinum Toxin (Botox) is also used to complement esthetic dentistry as a minimally invasive alternative to surgery. For instance, those with a “gummy smile” can be treated with BOTOX to reduce lip movement, in turn reducing excessive gingival display. Bruxism can also be minimized by BOTOX treatments by reducing the force of muscular contractions. The injections can be a useful adjunct to night guard appliances for certain patients. Both Dr. Doran and Dr. Malmquist have trained with the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics in BOTOX administration.

  • We make every effort to see our patients of record in a timely manner for unforeseen emergencies. Emergencies could include broken fillings, broken teeth, toothaches or dislodged crowns.
